Ricardo Ochoa (violin) – Ricardo is continuing to head up our new jazz strings program as a part of the Hilton Head Jazz Camp, with the aim of teaching traditional string instruments improvisation and playing jazz music in a string ensemble.  Ricardo is a very active musician locally, most famously known for co-founding and touring with the nationally recognized band Velvet Caravan.  He is also active as a classical musician with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and Savannah Philharmonic.  We are honored to have Ricardo as a part of the Hilton Head Jazz Camp again in 2020!

Joy Krimm (viola) joined the HHJC faculty in 2018 after being inspired by the rootsy-jazz influences found in the score of SSTI’s production of Tuck Everlasting. A gifted Suzuki teacher, Ms. Krimm is the director of music at Sea Pines Montessori Academy combining her background in both classical music and Appalachian-inspired fiddle tunes to open up her students to a world of improvisation. With local experience performing with the Hilton Head Symphony and their outreach Soundwaves series, we are fortunate to have Ms. Krimm as a part of the HHJC faculty.
